OWAIS SHAH BENEFIT 2008 – Spicemas Lunch, Dec 08
Bringing the end of Middlesex cricketing star Owais Shah’s Benefit year to a close, a Christmas lunch was held at Grange Hotels’ flagship City Hotel in Tower Hill. Donations were generously pledged to IODR’s long-standing community project in Weligama, Southern Sri Lanka.
The event was prestigiously hosted by ex-Kent County Captain David Fulton and comprised a screening of the England test match, followed by festive food with an Indian twist, two auctions and a raffle. Live auction items included FA Cup Final 09 tickets, and an exclusive one-night stay in the Penthouse Presidential Suite at the Grange City Hotel.
Ex-Essex County Captain and present TalkSport host Ronnie Irani was present to provide his unique brand of analysis on recent England vs. India one-day matches, the Stanford Super Series, and the forthcoming Ashes and T20 World Cups, and Glaswegian comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli was also in attendance.
