WCWEC Completed

An exclusive charity ball was hosted by Grange Hotels in late March, on behalf of IODR, the Red Cross and Guy’s and St. Thomas’s Charity. A glamorous James Bond-themed dinner and dance, the event featured card players, cocktails and tuxedos – not to mention an appearance from 007 and his famous Bond Girls!

Guests were treated to a lavish champagne and martini reception, followed by a two-course dinner, raffle and silent auction. Prizes won on the night included luxury goody bags, jewellery and exclusive hotel breaks, together with a unique selection of sporting and popular music memorabilia.

Live entertainment was provided in the form of Nathan Moore and the Sing Out Sisters, and speakers from the Red Cross, IODR and Guys and St. Thomas’s also took to the stage to give brief presentations on their respective charities.

IODR proceeds were put towards new resources for the long-standing Weligama Community Welfare and Education Centre (WCWEC) in Weligama, Southern Sri Lanka. Further info on IODR projects can be found by visiting www.iodr.co.uk.
